Scratchy Static during stock hold music playback

Canada RingCentral Office Premium, 41 lines

Hi,

I have tried all of the included Hold Music options with our RC plan, but have yet to find one that is clear (at least as clear as can be expected over the phone). It is very "scratchy" and static-y (in the opinion of all that listen to it).

I've tried everything, including applying all the usual sound file optimizations on Audacity/Goldwave etc. and nothing seems to have much effect.

I have tried an assortment of music files, music styles..literally everything. I am confident that the problem lies outside of the scope of changes that I can make to the sound file at all.

Can you please let me know what you can try on your end to troubleshoot this?

Thanks,

Fady

I'm not sure what all you've tried exactly but this might help you out.

You can  only use  .wav  or  .mp3  audio files.  Wav audio files should be  PCM at 8bit 16khtz. If it's easiest, you can just do the recording over the phone. See  Customizing Your Company Hours Greeting  RingCentral Professional voice recordings

And this thread may help also:   What is the best quality on imported greeting?

Hi Mike,

I've tried these settings, I've followed the walkthroughs regarding stereo to mono mix, resampled, etc. Believe me - I have tried all possible permutations, all of them have poor quality playback on the phone.

Is there an optimized test file you can point me to?

I've checked the network speed and it checks out just fine as well.

I'm not sure what else I can possibly do on my end?

Thanks,

Fady

I don't have an optimized file to send, but I would like to hear your recorded file so I can see what you are dealing with.  Can you email it to community.support@ringcentral.com?
