Stuck on CheckingDNS screen using Cisco IP phone SPA 508G.

I'm trying to set up a cisco ip phone spa508g. An ethernet cord connects port SW on phone to router. But all I see is CheckingDNS on phone and can't proceed further.

Hi  Morin,  Is this an existing phone on your account?  What is the serial number? 

Or is this a 3rd party phone?

  • Is this a 3rd Party Phone? Did you purchase it from RingCentral? 
  • Does the phone have an IP Address? 
  • That phone registered with our system today and says Online- Are you still having the issue?
