Fix RingCentral Meetings Update Installer

I have been running RingCentral Meetings successfully on my Windows XP computer since April 2015. On July18, I was offered an update which I installed. However, it did not run. Instead I received the following error message:

---------------------------

RingCentralMeetings.exe - Entry Point Not Found

---------------------------

The procedure entry point inet_ntop could not be located in the dynamic link library WS2_32.dll.

---------------------------

OK

When I tried to reinstall from the web interface, I received the same message. In addition, the System Requirements state Windows 7 or later version. This is sloppy programming. The installation program should verify the requirements including the OS before offering the update and before installing.

I have since uninstalled RingCentral Meetings and reinstalled the version with a Digital Signature Timestamp of May 18, 2015. It worked on July 19 and I was able to schedule a meeting. However, when I tried to open it on July 20, I again received the error message above.

Please refer to RingCentral Case #04818003

Denise - RingCentral App's are not supported on Window's XP.  Unfortunately this is not a needed "fix", because the machine isn't supported.

Please see the list of system requirements by logging in to your account, select Tools, Meetings.

You missed the point: "The installation program should verify the
requirements including the OS before offering the update and before installing."

All I want is the installation program to not install Ring Central Meetings on unsupported operating systems. If it had refused to install in the first place, there would be no expectation, and no problem.

By the way, I was invited to a RingCentral Meeting which I attended on my Windows XP computer and lo and behold, I can now initiate RingCentral Meetings again.
