findme

FindMe is enabled on my phone & I want to turn it off. I have searched for two hours and all I can find is a description of what FindMe / FollowMe is.
I get it! I understand what it means, can someone please explain to me how to trun it off / on?

There is no specific "switch" to turn on/off "Find Me/ Follow Me". Under Call Handling & Forwarding you have the capability to forward calls to up to 10 different numbers, either simultaneously (i.e., Follow Me) or sequentially (i.e., Find Me) for each and every extension. That is how your system knows where to send any calls that come in to a given number or extension.

What indications are you receiving that indicates that you are in a FInd Me/Follow Me mode? Are you seeing this in the Call Log? If that's the case it is just telling you that the system is following your call handling and forwarding instructions.

Are you just looking to have your extension ring to an assigned desk phone? If that's the case, don't add any additional numbers to the Call Handling & Forwarding and it will only ring that assigned desk phone. You will then not see any "Find Me" indications in the call log.

Further Call Handling & Forwarding information can be found here:

Thanks for the reply.
The indication is the call log, and the fact that anytime someone calls my extension, if I fail to answer the phone, it rolls to my cell phone & I would like this to stop happening.

Thanks again for replying. I will look at the information in hopes of success.

You're very welcome.

If you would like it to stop rolling over to your cell phone simply delete your cell phone number from the Call Handling & Forwarding section, or at bare minimum, turn it off by clicking the slide button control to the right of it (turn it to gray instead of blue).

Don't forget to do this in the Call Handling & Forwarding section of any and all extensions your cell phone may be listed in.

I forgot to mention above, but if you have the RingCentral mobile app on your cell phone -or- if you are using the RingCentral Desktop for Windows application on your computer, make certain that you also turn off the First Ring: Desktop apps & Smartphones at the very top of the Call Handling & Forwarding section of any and all extensions you may have assigned to yourself.

If that control is On, then your cell phone's RingCentral mobile app will ring (if you are using it) as will your desktop application (if you are using it).
