My company is actually using standard VoIP phones. Part of our team is working remotely. Now we are planning to apply a new solution which gonna use softphone + hardware (such as plugged headset and handset). We discussed several "must have" and "nice to have" from the solution which complies with our requirements. I spent a lot of time trying to find what suits our needs but without success. Can you please have a look on our requirements list and advise what will be the best hardware solution working with RingCentral softphone.
Must haves:*
- Windows softphone that can sign into a standard SIP server
- Handset that connects over USB
- Headset available too (that connects to PC at the same time as handset)
- Handset allows you to answer calls, dial out, transfer calls (blind and interactive transfers)
- Software is hardware agnostic; that is you can unplug one handset and plug another in, and no configuration is required. All config sits on software.
Nice to haves:
- Be able to sign in/out of extensions with hardware button on phone
- Mirror functionality such as dialing numbers, transferring calls on PC. So you can choose whether to use the physical handset or PC to do these functions.
- No external power required, purely USB
Many thanks
