Fax Download to Server upon Arrival

Hi there,

I am looking to use/build a way for me to monitor certain extensions of my phone system and download the pdf of a fax that anyone of those monitored receives to one of my servers, preferably using SFTP.  I want this to happen automatically when the fax is received at the particular extension I am watching.  What is the easiest, most reliable way to do this?

Thanks!!

Hi Julian,

We don't have any SFTP option available, but there are a couple things you can do that might meet your needs.

1. You can go into the notifications screen and turn on the option to deliver the faxes attached to the email notifications and have the go to whatever email address you wish.

2. If you want them archived in a certain place you can set up  RingCentral for Dropbox

3. If you have a PDF printer installed on your PC, you could also try going into the Desktop app to Settings > Messaging and turning on the switch to Automatically print incoming faxes and have the faxes go to the PDF printer. This may or may not work depending on the PDF printer.

Hi Mike,

I was looking into using an API to pull Faxes down to the server.  Do you know if anyone has been able to do this with success?  I tried using the RingCentral Archiver tool but that only runs once an hour and I need a tool that runs more frequently than that, so I have to build it.

Thanks!!

I don't know of anyone, but, a good place to check is on our Developers Community. You might want to post a question there:   https://devcommunity.ringcentral.com/ringcentraldev
