Getting another transferred number?

I am a little confused and new to RingCentral so bear with me if this is a dumb/confusing question:
Our company just migrated to RC and we had to get our old landline number ported to RC. We now just acquired another company and they are merging with us. We want to have their number associated with us but when we transfer the number will it replace our current ported number? Another question is can we have that number associated with a call queue? I know we can have direct numbers for a call queue but is it possible to change that to the new company's number instead of a random number?
I apologize again if this is confusing, I am not the person that usually takes care of this at my work lol.

Having done around 2 dozen of these, the BEST thing to do is add a new phone number, associate it to the proper call queue or extension, and in the porting process select it as the "temporary" number.  This will cause the ported number to automatically be placed in the proper queue or extension.  If you don't select a Temp number for it to replace then it will simply be added to the main auto receptionist or show up as an unassigned number.  Neither of which are probably what you want to see happen.

If you're porting a bunch of numbers then you have to add a Temp phone number for each.  There's no many to one option.

When you process the porting order you have the option of either selecting a number it will replace or just add it to the account.  Sounds like you want to do the later.  Then when the number ports into your account to can move it to any extension, Queue, or auto attendant you want.
