Yealink W52P Cordless DTMF

When answering a call from Front Gate at a desk phone, pressing a key activates the gate to open.  If that call is answered on the cordless, pressing the key does not trigger the gate to open.  Are there settings for in band DTMF that can be adjusted?

Probably, possibly.  I don't have one to try with though.  What digit do you need to dial though?  I ask because I think it is not possible to send * (star) as the first digit from a RC registered device due to RC reserving it for special codes.

In this case, it is the digit 8 that triggers the gate open.

Hello John,

Does the door buzzer work on other phones models besides the Yealink?

We use RFC2833 for our DTMF tones. Tech support does have the option to change the DTMF on the phone to In-Band, but I am not sure that would fix this issue for you.

The receptionist is using a Polycom desk phone and when she answers a gate call, pressing 8 works fine.  She says when she answers a gate call on the Yealink, pressing 8 does not work.  She says she doesn't really hear a tone being generated when she presses the key.

Okay, thank you for the information, John. I assume that the issue is probably related to how the Yealink phone does the DTMF tones. Unfortunately, a gate call is not a supported feature so there is not much we can suggest for the DTMF tones on the Yealink to work with the gate.

As I said, if you call support we can change the DTMF tones to In-Band on our back end and we can try to see if that will make any difference for you.
