Rate increase for Compliance and Administrative Cost Recovery Fee

Was any one notified that RC had a fee increase of $1.00 per line for the Compliance and Administrative Cost Recovery Fee, when I call to inquire about this I am just read the same description as I can read online, no explanation of why they decide to make this increase. If you read the small print you see that this is not a mandated charge, just something they can charge just because they want to. When I pitch my service to potential new clients I always make sure to tell them we have no hidden fees or charges because there are obviously plenty of companies that charge whatever they want.

Where is this on my statement?

A: If Credit Card: You were notified in your December Statement in the announcement section.

If Invoice: You were notified via email in December

If Annual Payment Plan: We notified you via email one month before your 2017 annual statement.


On RingCentrals's website, it's stated that RingCentral is permitted, but not required, to recover the cost associated with USF from the end-user customer? if it is not required, why do I need to pay this fee?

A:Although not required, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) allows providers to pass the cost of the USF fee to end-user customers. It is common practice in the telecommunications industry to charge a USF fee to help the provider recover this cost. RingCentral, along with many other telecommunication providers, has chosen to use this option and pass the USF fee through as a separate charge on an end-user customers bill. This same charge can be found on most other telecommunication providers invoices as well.
