How long is reporting stored within the RC cloud?

I do not want to loose any reporting data. If my data expires how do I move to to another application/system?

This page shows the data storage/retention limits.
Message Storage and Account Data Retention

I'd recommend just downloading each month to be safe. Unfortunately once the data is purges we can no longer recover it.

It depends on exactly what you are wanting to backup.   You might want to take a look at RingCentral Archiver, which works for the following.

  • Voicemail
  • Call recordings
  • SMS messages, and
  • Faxes

Thanks for this but I want to ensure the reporting( call volume, other metrics) are saved within RC system. Do I need to download data and at what period of time, etc.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled call log historical storage. Has anyone else had an issue with their historical call log being truncated by RC to one year instead of the unlimited historical call log?

Our call log has be truncated to exactly one year!

We as of March of this year had complete historical call log for the 6 years with have been with RC as i used it to look up a number when i had a call from a lead which i was sure i had talked to before - call log showed we talked to him +/- 4 years ago.

Call log now only goes back to September 1, 2016.

RC is trying to feed me the bull that we deleted the cal log ourselves - which if was correct would delete all calls prior to the date we "purge" the call log. If this was the case how was I able to look back 4 years this March?

I know this is how the call log "purge" works because once several years ago I accidentally purged the log from the softphone - tech support easily restored it for me when i called the issue in - that time.

Now they are trying to feed me the bull that we deleted the log and they cannot restore it.

I personally think this is another issue with RC and their current changes from two line system with unlimited extensions, call forwarding and follow me - changed to two extensions only and trying to charge for additional extensions and mobile phone forwarding / follow me calls (over the qty of 10) calling it a mobile extension!

PS the required 30 day notice for change of service has not been provided as required, excepting the"mobile user" - to which the charge was supposed to start on our "October Statement" to which they actually tried to back bill us to August on! They finally reversed the charges after over a week of arguing with them on the issue.

So my question was again:
Has anyone else had an issue with their historical call log being truncated by RC to one year instead of the unlimited historical call log?

So Mike why did you move this post to this category?
This is clearly a move on Ring Centrals Part to once again try and deflect the fact they have violated our Service Level Agreement and not allow me to ask the rest of the users whether their rights have also been violated - move it back to the general forum so i can get feed back from other users since Ring Central will not own up to the fact they have truncated call logs at 1 year from the unlimited we were paying for!

If you do not want to move it back tell me when the change occurred!
All agents of Ring Central are deflecting the issue - own up and provide a date!

It's common SEO practice to always combine related posts into a related topic as to maintain organization on the Community so that users search for a certain topic don't have to sift through so many different topics.  If/when Google sees multiple pages with similar content, they de-prioritize those duplicate pages so they do not appear in search results. Combining your post actually helps increase exposure.

According to the case notes, it appears that you were trying to recover calls as long back as 2011.  I'm not aware of RingCentral offering any unlimited storage plans so I will be happy to research this for you. This would be the 2nd reason I've moved the post. A lot of users are not aware that we offer the RingCentral Archiver as an option to back up data.

Myself or your account manager will be in touch.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Pull older call logs - from 2016. Can someone from the retention department pull my call logs from 2016?  I did not realize they are kept only for one year as the menu seems to make it appear that you can go back many many years to pull data.
