We are trying to find out if there is a way to mute the sound of transferring a call to an internal extension.  The caller can hear the receptionist punch the ## before the extension is entered. Any suggestions?

if your phone has presence you should be able to transfer using a presence key and transfer key without having to hit ##. but if you are having to use key strokes im not sure if there is a better way. maybe one of the other helpful folks can lend some knowledge.

The ## method of placing the caller on hold sends the DTMF in the RTP stream so the outside party on the line will hear it. As Chris mentioned above, you can use the transfer soft key instead to avoid the outside party hearing the DTMF tones.

Thank you for your information.
If we use the soft transfer key it keeps the in coming caller on hold longer looking for the extension # once it is typed in.  The ## was is a really quick transfer time the soft transfer is a longer hold time.  Wish there was a way to cancel the sound out.
