Mobile App: Can't receive calls while connected to call on verizon network

I have the RC softphone app on Samsung S7 Edge on the Verizon network, I'm unable to receive calls on the app during a phone call on the Verizon line, I get a silent notification momentarily within the notification bar on top right before the call goes to voicemail, at that point I get notified with a sound that I received a voicemail.
I installed the app on another phone Samsung J7 same thing, I tried on installing on a Samsung S5 this time on a TMobile network, the same thing!

Verizon help desk tells me the phone is designed to give priority to the Verizon line rather RC that is the cause.

I understand having the call routed to cellphone directly is a workaround, however, what is the use of the softphone? to call out?

I have all notifications enabled for the RC and have granted priority for the app... however no change!

ANY SOLUTIONS?

Using android 7.0 and RC 9.0.2

The Verizon rep advised you correctly. I can't say for sure, but it's unlikely that any carrier will give priority to a different phone app. They, will most likely prioritize their own dialer over all 3rd party apps. However, based on what you described above, what behavior would you like to see since you get a notification/voicemail ?

Hi Mike,

Love to see the app notifies with sound, or a ring, just like when you receive another call during a call.
