Using RC with Plantronics Voyager Legend Headset

microphone and audio unpredictably "disconnect" at inopportune times

We have been using RC with Voyager Legend headsets for the last 6 months. In addition to occasional garbled interference during calls, which I truly believe is the app and not the headset, we have now started experiencing the headset "disconnecting" during periods of inactivity. The phone will ring, and I will hear through the headset an incoming call, yet the microphone setting has turned itself off. I can open settings while attempting to answer the call, and switch setting from "same as system > voyager headset" to "voyager headset" and usually am able to salvage the call, but that is very inconvenient. I have scoured the site and the internet for this problem.

It sounds like you are really dealing with two issues here.

1. Garbled audio is general a network issue, not necessarily the app or the headset.  If you have poor audio start by confirming that your network is properly configured using the recommendations in this guide:
Network requirements, and troubleshooting call quality (QOS) issues.

2. The issue with the headset is probably not related to the poor audio.  Many Plantronics devices require the use of their Hub software. It's a good idea to make sure you are running a current version.  http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/plantronics-hub-desktop

If you've checked all of the above and still have issues then feel free to open a support case an provide all details. RingCentral app version, Computer OS version, exact Plantronics device and Hub software version.
