Transfer call directly to voicemail

This is the most ridiculous problem. Can't you put "Blind transfer" and "Warm transfer" on the main screen when answering a call? Then on the next screen offer "voicemail" or "phone"? This is just not rocket science.

I know with the Polycom phones, you'd have to change the default Blind/Warm option on the phone itself.  But that's not what I would want.  99% of the time we conduct warm transfers but there are times a direct to VM is what is needed.  Particularly for executives who have others screen their calls.

If memory serves me right (You'll need to test this) I believe you can transfer to VM by dialing TRANS > * > 0 and then the Ext > #

That doesn't work on RingCentral.  Tested it to confirm on our tenant using Polycom phones set with Consultative transfer as the default (on the phone, setting > basic > preferences > default transfer type).

Comcast VoiceEdge allows that.  NOT THAT I am recommending VoiceEdge!

In your case I would setup a voice mail only extension for those users,  In that setup you could choose the mailbox the message gets delivered to and just make the VM greeting the same as their normal extension..  this way you just blind transfer to this exte nsion and the person is then in the voice mail without the phone ringing ETC.

Try it and let us know

This extension type is in the same place where you create call queues under other I believe

Thanks

It will work if you are in Blind transfer only. Ridiculously, you have to hold the transfer key down (long hold) and the option to switch to Blind will appear on your screen. then you enter  *  0  ext (on the keypad).
