One User, 2 Extensions

Is there a way in RingCentral to have one user have two extensions?  We want these extensions to act EXACTLY the same way.  Both ring the users phone, and both go to the users voice mail if the call is not answered.  it seems simple but we have tried everything and the voice mail always ends up going back to the voice mail of the extension that was dialed.  If we setup unconditional forwarding, it just rings and rings, voice mail never picks up.  Has anyone ever set this up successfully before?

We want to do this for many phones that may change custom voicemail greetings often, so having to download and upload the custom greeting to a virtual extension (which then forwards the message) isn't an option.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

I could probably assist you with this configuration.  I would want to see your call flow first before implementing

This is totally possible

Thanks Chuck, I am fairly new to RC so I am not sure what you mean by call flow?  We don't have anything setup as far as groups or forwarding, etc.  These are brand new users, not in use yet that we are trying to setup this way.

ok, what I mean by call flow is what your expectations are when your main number is called.  Of course what you have in place and a explanation of why you need this setup.  helps me to understand what you want and are trying to accomplish.  there could be another way so I need to know what you want so we could put the best foot forward

Give me a ring, so I could assist

Chuck helped me come up with a couple possible work-arounds (Thanks again Chuck!!) that will work, though not 100% idea.  Rob, how did you get this to work?

Thanks Rob, that works as well in terms of the extension ringing on the forwarding phone and voice mails getting to the right place, but puts us in the same spot where the voice mail greeting is still that of the forwarded extension.  We would like to have it so that the voice mail greeting that is heard is that of the forwarding extension - and not just a download and upload of the greeting, but the greeting for that actual forwarding extension so that if they change the greeting we don't have to update it on the forwarded extension.  Thanks for your response, I appreciate all the help!

Hey Liz! Could you provide more details about what you are envisioning for your set up? Do you have Single or Multi-Level IVR on your account right now? When you say you want it to forward to your cell phone, are you talking your personal cell number or do you plan to use the RC Mobile app?

For example 1-customer service 2-technical support 3-sales 0 for the operator.

I think I see where you can tell it to do something on a key stroke, but they have already selected 1, 2 or 3, so asking them to do it again would be redundant. Thanks,

What I did was use Presence so that way I can see for example line 101, and 102 on my phone, and when it comes to the mailbox, I just have it set within the online account - so each Mailbox messages are re-directed to say mailbox 101 rather than 101 and 102.  Does that make sense?
