Ring Central for Office 365 not working

Since the RC plug-in for macOS is broken on Mojave I thought I'd switch to O365 in Chrome and use the RC for Office 365 extension. I can't get that to work either.

I tried following the instructions here:
https://success.ringcentral.com/articles/RC_Knowledge_Article/8404

In this article, Step 5 shows a MS authentication dialog, which I don't see at all. You can see from this screenshot that the RC icon is grayed out, and so is the Options menu item.

Here's what I've tried:
  1. Removed the Chrome extension and reinstalled
  2. Logged out of my Google account and back in
  3. Restarted my browser and computer
  4. Logged out of my O365 account and back in.

I tried reaching out to RC support and the guy wasted over an hour of my time and had no idea what he was doing. I'm hoping that somebody has run into this before and has an idea of how to correct it. Any help would be much appreciated.

TIA,

Dave

Hey Dave, did you log into your Outlook account during the process?

I mentioned that the authentication dialog never came up. Since then, I tried the extension on macOS and Windows on the latest version of Chrome and v60. The icon is grayed out and no authentication dialog comes up. The RingCentral for Google extension does work fine.

So what I would do is open a case, instead of calling in, and ask that your case be sent to the Integrations Team for review. That's the team that would have the knowledge and be able to troubleshoot what's going on. I do apologize that your Support Agent didn't do this for you already :(

It looks like they did open a case for this issue, and it turns out that I wasted about 1.5 hours working with tech support because this is a known issue. I received this today: "This is a known issue that is being worked on by our Service Engineers. There is no ETA for the resolution yet. We apologize for the inconvenience."

It's disappointing that: 1) there is no message posted on the RC for Office 365 page about the known issue, and 2) the RC techs aren't aware of known issues.

Hopefully this post helps anyone else struggling with this issue.
