Add sender's name to emailed text notifications

1. US
2. Consulting firm
3. I'd like to suggest an update for the email notifications that come through for received texts. Add the senders name in addition to phone number.
4. I have a team member who is at her computer more than on her phone so if she can see emails come through with the text sender's name it would be more efficient than having to stop and pick up her phone to see more details of the sender.
5. Time saver for those using the desktop app or soft phone.
6. 67 users

Hi there!
If you go into our app and save the contact as a RingCentral cloud contact (see step 6:  https://support.ringcentral.com/s/article/5-10-Adding-a-Personal-Contact-via-Android?language=en_US) then the name should appear in the text message email notifications.

Let me know if you need help.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Messaging emails - it would be good if it included "From". I send many texts and .... I need to know "WHO" a text is coming from on the email notification. It has the persons name on the "Ring" app but not the email?

As Ted mentioned, you have to have the contact in your RingCentral contacts list.  This is so that RingCentral can reference your contact with the phone number that is sending the text.  This is because SMS messages (simple text messages) are not like phone calls, and do not have any callerid info associated with it from the sender other than phone number.
