Ring my desk phone first, then my mobile ringcentral app

So here's my problem.

The RingCentral app on the iPhone is great, because it is connected the phone system, making transferring very easy, parking calls, etc.

The problem is that I only see a setting to ring the app on the smarphone FIRST. I want the deskphone to ring, and then after a certain number of rings, ring the mobile app on my smartphone.

I can make it so that it rings the office first, but then when it "fowards" the call to my phone, it just rings like a normal number, and doesn't ring the mobile app. So if I need to transfer or park a call, I can't.

Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Under "Call Handling & Forwarding"- then "SoftPhones & Smartphones", change Wait
"0"   rings before forwarding begins.  Then you can add your cell phone as the 2nd phone to ring after "X" no of rings.

Marc,

Not even close. Please read my post. Forwarding a phone that way rings to your actual phone number, and not the RingCentral app.

Got it....  Sorry - I just want it to ring my cell.  It would be interesting to find out how to solve your issue though

Hi everyone,

Regrettably, the functionality you're asking for is not currently available from our system. We've been looking at how to enable this, and it will take a bit of time before we can support this feature.

Unfortunately we cannot provide a timeline on when the feature will be available, but rest assured that we're actively looking at this issue.

Regards,
Vi

Hi Ashlynn,  I changed this topic to an "idea" so others can click the like button above. This way others can chime in if they are interested and we can get a better idea of demand.

I don't have an iPhone (the following works on my Android phone) but I can easily accomplish this by doing the following:
Under "Call Handling & Forwarding"- then "SoftPhones & Smartphones", turn OFF the Desktop Apps & SmartPhones. Then list your desk phone first under call handling, followed by your mobile/cell phone. Make certain that you have "Sequential" selected.

I do both. I forward the call to my cell phone with those settings. If I need to call out, I simply open the RingCentral app on my phone and call out from it.

Having said the above, if for some reason I would want to use the RingCentral application to take the call (i.e., to use WiFi for the call or the like), I can accept the call, ask the caller to hold for a quick moment, and then put it on hold (##). I can then park the call (*3). It will tell me what extension it is saved to (i.e., *817). I can then start the RingCentral mobile app and go to the phone pad. I enter *817 (example above) then press the green phone key to "initiate" the call. It will pick up my parked call and I am then using the RC mobile app for the call.

We'd like this feature in our organization of 15+ as well.
