Caller ID for all plans.

This is a huge issue for me.  I just signed  up for Ring Central and our entire office is completely and utterly dissatisfied.  In a business it is imperative to see the incoming caller id name.  It is absolutely unacceptable to not offer this feature.  I just keep being told that I would need to upgrade to another tier (which has features I DO NOT NEED) for an extra $100 per month just to be able to see the caller id name.  Absolutely ridiculous.  Even if you do not want to offer it in your plans, it should at least be an option to "add on" this feature for a small amount per month as this is a basic feature of any phone service.  Our entire office is pretty upset that we have lost this feature (for the first time ever) since switching to this company.  No one is willing to help me with a solution.

I agree with everyone else here we we just changed over to ring central, and had I known that this was not in the package I would not have signed up. Even making this an add on for an extra few dollars a line would be acceptable. We have no need for all the extras in the next tier. I looked over all the sales material I have and do not see anything mentioning caller ID as being included or not as well.

Charlie, While I agree with you that it is such a common feature that it should be on all plans, it is not the phones that contain that feature/functionality. It is the service, not the phones no matter where you buy them from. Depending on where you live and what phone services are available (ie, Bell system, local phone cooperatives, etc) the service is often billed separately or you have to request it. Again, Im with you and everyone else that this should be standard on all plans or at least charge a few dollars extra fir the feature.

Nobody thinks of looking for that feature - its such an old and common feature, it should be standard.  Most basic phones you pick up at any department store has that feature as standard.

I'm sure it's listed on the cell phone bill, or house phone bill - which I rarely look at.  LOL.

It's just super frustrating when it's an expected feature.  It should at least be pointed out that it is NOT included.  And, offered as an option instead of along with a bunch of other features at another level.  Very similar to cable TV.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Caller ID on incoming calls does not show names!. This is a big disappointment for us.  We just signed up for Ring Central and realized after talking to tech support a few minutes ago that the caller ID feature ONLY shows a caller's phone number not name because of the Standard Plan that we have!  Are you kidding!!  That's like buying a car and having to pay extra for the back seats, I'm sorry that doesn't come with your vehicle unless you want to get the Enterprise Plan (which from what I'm seeing is more than $50/month).  I must say I'm really super impressed with the overall phone system since I'm the IT Support person but it's really hard for me to 'sell' promote RingCentral with a feature that should absolutely be included.  Standard or Enterprise Plans or whatever should ALWAYS include a feature like full name and number Caller ID because that is a feature that could really make or break some of my customers!

There should at least be an option to "add on" this feature for a small amount per month as this is a basic feature of ALL current phone services.    I hope you take heed on my suggestion!  Thanks, Allan.

Our office has this problem as well. It shows the phone number but not the incoming callers name. We have had this feature with other companies but not ring central. Please add this feature.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Caller ID. I don't understand why in this day and age the Caller ID doesn't automatically show name and number.  Why do we have to pay extra for this when EVERY other company out there has it automatically included as part of their service.  This isn't the 90's where the feature was optional and paying extra for it was so you can have it, even then it showed name and number when someone called!!!!!!  Extremely dissapointed so far with the service especially that I asked all these questions prior to signing up and now I'm finding that what I was told isn't what you actually get.
