salesforce caller id

Our company is a heavy salesforce user and we really benefit from the click-to-dial feature from salesforce. However, there is one significant drawback. The caller ID presented is always the switchboard. However, we want the return calls to come to the direct number of the salesperson. I have been told that the caller ID for click to dial cannot be changed.

(Of course, there are frustrating workarounds such as copying and pasting the numbers into the RingCentral app, but that's not the efficient process we are aiming for.)

Ah - I've been searching everywhere for a way to edit the caller ID on the Salesforce app.  Very frustrating and creating issues for our business.

We are a heavy Saleforce user as well and I have recently installed the click to dial feature. This is a major inconvenience for our sales and support team users as we have different verticals and global locations which require specific caller id numbers.

I agree.  We just switched to RingCentral and being able to change the outbound caller id from within the Salesforce app would lend itself to a very efficient workflow.  The copy & paste process is not what we were aiming for.  Please consider adding this feature to your next update.

If your users are using the Salesforce integration to dial out via the softphone (desktop app), each user can change their Caller ID under Settings > Calls > Outbound Caller ID within the desktop app itself. Just stumbled across this and it works for us!

For some reason, the click to dial does not respect the user's outbound caller ID settings on their account. It instead uses the RC Phone settings as Brandon mention, under Settings > Calls > Outbound caller ID.

We use multisite and I believe the user's default outbound caller ID will be set to their sites assigned number.

I hope this helps!
