Has anyone had success integrating a solution to drop pre-recorded voicemails?

When you say "drop pre-recorded voicemails", could you please provide some more detail that I might better understand the specific technical needs please?

Here is a great article explaining it:  http://www.ringdna.com/inside-sales-glossary/what-is-voicemail-drop

I am not looking for any thing fancy or with analytics just the ability to drop a pre recorded voicemail which in turn allows my to hang up and move onto the next call faster.

That seems like a very valuable feature. I'm not aware of any existing solutions we have for this...but I will do some asking around to see if there's something available which I am not aware of yet.

Thanks for sharing the useful link Dave!

Thank you Ben! I am even ok with a hacked alpha version of something that does the basics

it would be amazing! A game changer for ring central if you could find a work around.

Initial results from some probing with various team members has indicated our current Platform solution may not have support for this feature. However I've been informed that this can be done with Contact Center, albeit might be a little too "heavy" of a solution for your current needs.

I'll continue asking people and get back with a solid answer in the next day or two.

Thank you for continuing to research this for us! Ideally it would be awesome if it could be added to the "tools" section of RingCentral. Not sure I could afford or justify doubling my billing rate for just 1 feature. Let me know your thoughts on what you find out : )

This is a great feature but it is currently behind other features we are building. Howeve,r it may be possible to build this using our WebRTC Voice capability with some work.

Our JavaScript WebRTC SDK uses SIP.js which can take audio streams from the microphone or an audio file. The audio file should be able to be played before or while the user is connected. At this time, this capability isn't exposed but it can be with a bit of work.

JavaScript WebRTC SDK is available here:

https://github.com/ringcentral/ringcentral-web-phone

More information on this is available here:

https://github.com/ringcentral/ringcentral-web-phone/issues/95

Once file playback is available in the WebRTC SDK, a voicemail drop solution can be built to play back recordings, either automatically or on selection by the user.

To build this, you can:

  1. Wait till we build it into the WebRTC SDK and voicemail drop on that
  2. Enhance the WebRTC SDK yourself and the build a voicemail drop solution
  3. Contact our professional services team to have it built
