choose different extension

If a caller has chosen an extension and realizes they chose the wrong one, is there any point where they can choose a different extension?  For example, if they choose my extension, get my voicemail and then the caller realizes they wanted the billing department, can they connect back to the operator at this point by dialing 0?  Or dial another extension to be connected to?  Any options or assistance would be great.

Right, we already have an operator extension.  What I want to know, is if a client listens to the operator's greeting, chooses my extension, starts listening to my voicemail message and at that point realizes they have the wrong extension, can the caller just dial a different extension at that point?  If my voicemail message includes "Dial 2 to be connected to the billing department", and the caller dials 2...will they be transferred to that extension?  I am curious about the parameters...would the 'connect to another extension' option have to be included in the greeting, or while they're being connected to my extension?  Could the caller choose any extension, or just the operator extension?

Yes to all.  So for example, if I call ext 200 and get their greeting, at any time during the greeting I can dial 0+100# and be transferred to ext. 100.  Or, if you have the receptionist programmed as the operator extension, just 0.  Another way, for the same example, would be to dial 100# - but the caller will hear a beep before they start to hear ringing.  There are other options if you have IVR setup.  You can even set up a group or alternate extension that will play and provide options.  Lots of ways to do it.  It's all how you have your set up and who level you have.

Depending on your setup and what level of RC you have, you can program an operator extension.  Go to AUTO ATTENDANT and select OPERATOR EXTENSION.
