Desk Phone keeps ringing when faxes come in

Hi. So, just like the title says, the physical phone just keeps ringing whenever a fax comes in. Sometimes, I answer the phone by mistake and the person who tries to send a fax says that it goes to voicemail. Is there a way to stop this?

It's a handshake issue from the sender's end.  RC is waiting to hear the handshake but the sender's machine is waiting to hear the handshake too.  Very common issue in the E-fax world.  Best way to confirm your settings are ok is to send a fax from a known machine that sends the handshake.  If that works - then you are ok.

Danno's most likely correct.  The RC system listens for the fax tone. If it doesn't hear/receive one, it assumes its a regular telephone call. As Danno suggested, test it with a different sending fax machine.
