Under messages can only send fax. Texting not a choice

Trying to access texting opportunity and, when I press "Message" on iPhone then compose button, it only allows me to send a fax and does not provide for a text message.  Suggestions?

Can you receive text messages?  I wonder if somehow text messaging is not enabled on your number.  Do you have other users on your account that can send text from their iPhone app?

Are you logged in with your direct digital line number or with a toll-free number (with or without an extension)? You cannot text from a toll-free number.

I am currently working on updating my account to allow for texting.  Probably going to be a relatively simple fix.  Thanks.
