I HAVE 8 NUMBERS 1800 WITH RINGCENTRAL AND ALL I HAVE SINCE 2008, HAVE BEEN FROM MY COMPANY FOR 10 YEARS, THEN I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW OR WHY THIS IS HAPPENING?
THERE ARE EVEN CALLS THAT ARE ANSWERED AND NOBODY IS FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LINE, BUT THE LINE THAT IS LIKE IF SOMEBODY WAS SPEAKING. TODAY I HAD A CASE LIKE THIS, I HARD 51 MINUTES AND ABSOLUTELY NOBODY WAS TALKING.

This is probably a case of traffic pumping to your toll free numbers.  Unfortunately there is nothing that can. be done about it.  You can complain to the FCC, but I would not expect anything from them.

I agree with Brandon. I have a client who has a toll-free number with another VoIP service and has for quite a while. They are one of my web development clients. They have had their toll-free number for approximately 8 years but in January this year they started receiving an ungodly amount of toll-free calls. They were able to "turn off" their toll-free number with their service yet keep it in an inactive state so they don't get charged. They have kept track of the calls in their Call Log and in this 8 month period since January they have received over 2,600 calls to their toll-free number. The calls range from 4 to 115 calls  from a single number all within one or two minutes. It has to be some kind of automated system (since no one can dial and connect that quickly and then dial again...even with multiple phones), and as Brandon pointed out, there is really nothing they can do about it. So they stopped offering a toll-free number for their clients to call in on.

It's unfortunate that this is a part of their paid service which they really can't use any longer. Until the telco's and the FCC clamp down on this type of abuse, it will continue to happen.

I agree with Jan and Brandon. We get the same calls through RingCentral and the other two phone companies that we have business phone numbers through. I have made multiple reports to the FCC and continue to do so as I have a running list of these calls and they haven't done much about it.

I am sorry for your frustration, Sandra!

We are having the same issue now. We are tracking it and it is anywhere from 15-50 calls a day. According to the reports we found, they are all calls coming into our 800, 888 or 877 numbers. If we try to call them back, it is a disconnected number. Wish there was something else we could do besides turning off our toll free numbers, as they are only toll free to those that make the call, we get charged for each and every call.

If there are any further developments in this since the last chats, please let me know. Thanks.

Does blocking the numbers do any good?  The same thing is happening with my Ring Central business line.  The phone will either be disconnected or a fax line?

Andrea, we know this is frustrating.
There's no tried and true solution, but we recommend blocking and also reporting to the FCC.
We'll update here if we see other workarounds or solutions.
