Call Handling: A pause command when using call forwarding and an extension

Does anyone why phone * ext does not work when using call forwarding? If I call from my cell and insert a pause command between phone number and my office extension it works perfect. But if I try to forward the phone using RC * command between Phone * Ext, it fails. I have searched every where and cannot find a "pause command" for RC. Any ideas? Thanks.

Dan - These additional tips really helped and got me really close to what I'm trying to do, but still not quite there.  I'm trying to set up a call forwarding that will dial my conference number and access code.  I used the * between the number and the access code, but it also requires a # at the end of the access code and the # isn't saving when I enter it into the call forwarding.

Chuck,
I am reading post about adding a pause and I can give you an example. I have a daily support call through our GoToMeeting account. I have the dial-in number and there is a 3 second delay then I enter the access code (9 digits) another 3 second delay then I enter the 2 digit code to enable call control for the organizer (# and 2 digits).
It would be nice to program a favorite entry to have this string.
Thanks!
Donald

Hi,

Just wanted to see if there was any updates to this feature request, or a different way of doing it.

For additional clarity, similar the iphone feature here:

Well, I contacted Grasshopper and was told they can do this.  This seems like a feature that most people would want.  I may have to switch now.

AND We actually WANT complex numbers like number + pause + ext + # to be saved in the contact book.
currently, when adding a contact we cannot save numbers with symbols like "," " " " ' " commonly used to set "pause"

Need to add the pause feature, I cannot transfer call to something like 555-555-5555*303 (using the * as a pause) and it's pretty annoying !

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Be able to call a number, allow for a pause, and have it automatically add an ext.... Allow me to do a quick dial of a contact but to have a symbol that tells the call to pause a minute after answering like when I call a main number and the message comes on to type in the extension of the person I want to reach. I can do this on my Android Phone (not RingCentral). It works something like this. 1-800-185-4647#(meaning pause for a message to start) then auto dial extension which is 4567 or an access code on a non-RingCentral conference code which would be like this 1-800-185-4647#(meaning pause for a message to start) then auto dial access code which is 456745465#

Here is my chat
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:19:31 AM): Hello. I'm Neil Lawrence, your RingCentral Technical Support Specialist. How may I assist you today? Me (4/26/2017, 9:19:38 AM): Hello
Me (4/26/2017, 9:19:51 AM): I have two questions.
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:20:06 AM): Hi Tamara! Sure.
Me (4/26/2017, 9:21:12 AM): 1 I have a conference call that does not use the RingCentral conference call feature. It is a 3rd party. There is a phone number like this (701) 801-1220 with an access code like this 645-665-355
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:21:28 AM): Okay. What's the question?
Me (4/26/2017, 9:21:47 AM): Please read the last text
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:22:19 AM): There's no question there.
Me (4/26/2017, 9:22:38 AM): 1 I have a conference call that does not use the RingCentral conference call feature. It is a 3rd party. There is a phone number like this (701) 801-1220 with an access code like this 645-665-355
Me (4/26/2017, 9:25:08 AM): Another application would be if Jon Doe works at his office and has an extension number so the main number is 1-800-465-2826 and then the message comes to type in his 4 digit extension which is 4567. So, I do this on my phone with a symbol that makes it pause for a moment to allow the message to ask me to enter the extension then dial the extension.
Me (4/26/2017, 9:25:53 AM): I want to make these calls from my RingCentral desktop.
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:26:48 AM): So is your question, 'can you make a call from the app by doing a quick dial to the conference line, and automatically do the codes?'
Me (4/26/2017, 9:27:19 AM): yes
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:27:44 AM): You can dial any number but you need to dial the codes manually.
Me (4/26/2017, 9:28:36 AM): The next question is can you schedule the computer application to call automatically at a certain time?
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:29:33 AM): We do not offer that. However, that would be a fantastic feature. I'll send that as a feature request to our engineers.
Me (4/26/2017, 9:31:55 AM): Adding the ability to do the extension with the pause would be one I would suggest also. I do have the Android version on my phone and while I am driving, I would want to quick dial and not have to key in the extension or access code manually
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:32:07 AM): Absolutely. This is all noted, Tamara.
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:32:27 AM): You may also do it by going to community.ringcentral.com
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:32:43 AM): I just submitted your feature request case.
Me (4/26/2017, 9:33:05 AM): OK. Is there any way I can be notified if and when the features are added?
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:33:39 AM): Certainly, you must do it on your end, go to http://community.ringcentral.com and click new post.
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:34:29 AM): Or I can email you too once its created.
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:34:36 AM): Is there's anything else that I can assist you with?
Me (4/26/2017, 9:35:05 AM): Nope that is it. I do love RingCentral.
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:35:08 AM): Your case number 05704619.
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:35:22 AM): Thank you too, Tamara. Please feel free to chat again if you need further assistance.
Me (4/26/2017, 9:35:25 AM): Thank you very much. Can you email me this chat?
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:35:47 AM): Yes or you may actually click 'save chat' button on this window.
Neil Lawrence S (4/26/2017, 9:35:49 AM): Do you see it?
