How to setup a ringcentral direct number to a landline without forwarding?

Hello, I have a client that uses an optimum business account currently for phones. What we are trying to do is get rid of optimum for his phone system and just use ring central. Now we are going to have to port over his numbers (one is toll free, one is local).

His phone currently is landline with the local number, when anyone calls the toll free number it forwards to the local. But he also needs people to be able to just call the local directly. So is it possible to port the numbers to ring central and somehow make this work? He is set on having the landline number., but then how do we get the landline phone working and setup?

If at all possible avoiding a VoIP phone, or using the desktop/ mobile app.

If I understand correctly what you will want to do is buy or rent an analog adapter.  You can port both the local and told free number into RingCentral.  There two different forms you will need to fill out to do that and RIngCentral will help you or you can do it via the admin portal yourself.  You can order the ATA with your RingCentral line and it will come preconfigured ready to plug the analog gear the customer has into that.

The link points to new phones, that doesn't seem like what you were explaining.

If just wanted to link to where you can see the analog adapter they sell.  It is the last device on the bottom.

I think you will have no problem doing what you want to do with an ATA.  You will have no more landline and your local and TF will come via voip to you the analog adapter and back to the existing analog device.

What about voicemail? would I need to go on the app? or would it do voicemail on the device?

You will have stutter dial tone to indicate voicemail and check it the traditional way by dialing *86 and then a mailbox number/password.  You might still use the app if you want or use voicemail to email or SMS notification too.

Why not use a VOIP phone or soft phone?  Is the person using an analog cordless or something?
