Google Contacts sync with Mobile App

Is there a way to sync your google contacts to your mobile apps for RingCentral? I am able to connect them on my desktop app but I do not see the same function available for my cell phones or tablets.

Debra,

Yes... When you are on the Contacts page in the mobile app, at the top of the page there is a drop-down menu. Select All Contacts and your Google Contacts should appear.

The app never re-syncs. If contacts are added to the Google Contacts, it does not update the contacts on the mobile app.

And like I mentioned before, my "idea" requests don't get looked at. So I don't see a reason to open a case or even post the lack of features on the phone app.

Hi ACCOUNT,

Hmmm, that's odd. Let's investigate, please open a case with Support!

Are you saying it's supposed to re-sync automatically? It never has. The desktop app does not re-sync unless you turn the 'View Google contacts' feature off and then turn it back on. The mobile app has no way of doing this so it can't re-sync at all.

Meaning, any new contacts added to one's Google contacts will not show up on the mobile app.

Hi ACCOUNT,

I followed up with our Engineering Team, and they advised:
Our mobile app does not sync contacts, it would be up to the phone to sync the contacts and then our mobile app can view them. So if the problem is on mobile as well, it sounds like there may be an issue with either the locations where the customer put the contact not being a location set to sync (most mobile devices will not sync Global directory), or some other syncing issue.
Based on this information, I would open a case with Support to confirm there are no syncing issues.

Why? You just said that it's odd that the app doesn't sync and then admitted the mobile app doesn't have the functionality to sync from a Google account. There's no problem here other than the lack of feature. I would put in a request for such a feature but none of my other "ideas" I submit get looked at so why bother.
